Green Features

Boardwalk Residences is the 1st ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY COMMUNITY in Mazatlan. It has been designed in a beautiful colonial style, full of Old Mexico charm and with the environment in mind. Some of the key "green" features include:

- Built from insulated concrete block (ICF)- this material greatly reduces the required air conditioning load, requires less maintenance, is long lasting, and produces little waste product that can’t be recycled

- Rain water collection for re-use in gardens, etc.

- Laminated glass for less heat gain/air-conditioning loss

- Smart lighting technologies incl. solar lighting

- High efficiency electric hot water heaters near point of use

- Dual flush toilets to save water

- NO USE of old growth trees in the carpentry

- Our gardens will use indigenous species to ensure their survival and reduce the water use requirement, etc.

- Recycle chute provided on every floor

- We are attempting to source products as close to Mazatlan as possible to reduce transportation requirements and therefore create less carbon pollution
